For a few months during the summer of 2022, I worked as a freelance UI designer for a finance-technology startup called Venia. Their primary purpose was to help people manage their finances, pay off their debts, and plan for the future in a single app.
Through user interviews and user testing, we learned that the hefty responsibility of paying off multiple loans at a time was a daunting task for many people, and that the decentralized nature of loan payments made it dificult for them to find the best payment solution for their unique situation. By creating a mobile app that provides an approachable method to managing personal finance and a personalized planner feature, users of this product will be able to make progress in what was previously a confusing and intimidating process.
